Windows 7 SP1 update consistently fails. Error Code 800706BE. Corrupt System Store
I have followed every tip and suggestion I can find including SFC / SCANNOW & System Readiness Tool. I know what the problem is, just not how to fix it. The System Readiness Tool detects corruption in two previous patches as follows:
Checking Package Manifests and Catalogs
(f) CBS Catalog Missing 0x00000002 servicing\Packages\Package_237_for_KB2633952~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat

and it goes on to say
Checking Packages

1. Are there any detailes in WindowsUpdate.log, ReportingEvents.log and event logs?
2. There is possibility to install update manually:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2633952/en-us
3. Give a try to clean boot.
4. Disable browser choice in msconfig

Hi,
Before moving on, I would like to know how to install the updates, via Windows Update or WSUS?
